2.)  What are the two parts to the Loud Cry?  The first is, “Babylon is fallen is fallen.”  The second is, “Come out of her my people.”  {Mar 189.1}

3.)  What are the two parts to the final warning?  An angel came down from heaven and cried with a strong voice, announcing the sins of Babylon.”  Also, in connection with this, there is a call heard saying, “Come out of her, My people.”  {GC 604.1}

4.)  What is the difference between “Babylon is fallen” in the second angel’s message of Revelation 14, as given in the summer of 1844, and “Babylon is fallen” in the Loud Cry of Revelation 18?  The first time the angel was letting us know what is going to happen in the future.  The second time the angel is letting us know that it’s happening now.  The time has come, and this is our final warning.

5.)  Babylon is become: “the habitation of devils,” “the hold of every foul spirit,” “and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”  Explain each of these elements.  “The habitation of deveils” was the bodies of human beings made for the dwelling place of God.  {DA 36.3}  When people worship Satan, they invite the demons to come into them, and the demons cause them to say bad things.  The influence of the demons will be felt in the churches.  {GC 603.2}

6.)  List and explain the sins of Babylon, as stated in Revelation 18.  Extravagance in the use of means, selfishness, heresies, have taken the world captive.  In Rev. 18:3 it says that Babylon caused the people to break the commandments of God, commit fornication, and cause them to get rich through the abundace of her delicacies.

7.)  When does Babylon’s sins reach unto heaven?  When the law of God is made void by legislation.  –  ST June 12, 1893.  {LDE 198.5}

8.)  Why does Revelation 18 say that Babylon receives the plagues?  In Rev. 18:5 it says, “Her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”  Babylon has filled up the measure of her guilt, and destruction is about to fall on her.  There are still people of God in Babylon, and before God comes back, they need to be called out of Babylon so they aren’t tempted to partake of the plagues and sins that will come.  {GC 604.1}

9.)  If you are honestly serving God, what difference does it make which church you belong to? [according to Revelation 18]  If you truly want to serve and follow God, you will search for a church that wants to do the same.  You will want to find a church that has the same beliefs as you do.  I believe the Seventh-Day Adventist Church is the right one.

10.)  Why are there only two distinct calls made to the churches?  God sent an angel to warn the people of what would happen in the end, and many people didn’t want to believe it.  So God sent another angel with the same message, to tell people that they had better make a decision, because this was their last and final warning to decide who they are going to follow, Christ, or Satan.  Still many people didn’t believe or accept the message.  God must have thought that another warning wouldn’t do any good, so just had two warnings.

11.)  When is the Loud Cry suppose to be given?  Now.  Now is the time to tell the world about Christ’s second coming.  {LDE 208.1}

12.)  What is it that gives power to the Loud voice [Cry]?  The 4th angel.  It’s the last and final warning to the world that Christ is coming back.  The 4th angel gave more power to the 3rd angel, because many people refused the 3rd angel’s message.

1.)  The 3rd angel’s message is to be regarded as the highest importance. It is a life and death situation, because it is the final warning to the world that Christ is coming back for us.

3.)  Those who had accepted the light concerning the mediation of Christ and perpetuity of God’s law, found that these were the truths from the third angel’s message. {4SP 275.2}

4.)  They didn’t want to believe that God entered into the Most Holy Santuary. They knew He did, but they didn’t want to believe it, because if they did, they would have to be obeying the fourth commandment which is about the seventh day Sabbath.

5.)   It was to show us how much God cares for us, and what He sacrificed for us. It invites us to recieve the Righteousness of Christ.

6.)   The second and third angel’s messages didn’t necessarily come in order because they came after the first, but they went with the first. They were all conveying about the same message, and kind of worked as a team.

7.)  They are as one. They are a threefold. They all convey the same message.

8.)  The third angel’s message is to be a warning to us and be a way of escape for God’s people. The warning of the third angel will get the attention of the whole world.

10.)  It is to point people to the Most Holy Place.  It’s an anchor to the people of God.  It will keep us from getting into the hands of Satan.  {EW 256.2}

13.)  The judgements upon us, prior to the close of probation, was mingled with mercy, and Christ’s pleading blood has shielded the sinner from getting all his guilt.  During the final judgement,wrath will be poured out unmixed with mercy.  {GC 628.2}

14.)  They will be tossed into the lake of fire and be tormented for ever and ever.  In other words, they won’t live for ever and ever and be tortured that long; they will be dead, but be lost for ever and ever.  They won’t have another chance.

15.)  In Jude 7, it’s pointing back to when Sodom and Gomorrha burned.  The punishment isn’t for ever and ever, but the effect will always be remembered.

It is a warning to us for the end of times.  In II Peter 2:1 it says, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”

We can’t really do anything to stop it because it is a sign of the end, and Christ Himself told us that this was going to happen.  We do need to warn others about it and tell them not to trust false teachers, and pray that they follow God, and not man.  We also need to pray that we follow God and not man as well.  We need to study the scriptures and spend a lot of time in prayer so that we can be ready for Christ’s second coming.  Personally, I don’t think Adventist schools should allow teachers to come in and teach something that is against the teachings of the Bible.

10.)  The actual content of the first angel’s message doesn’t mention anything about the second coming of Christ.  The perceived first angel’s message (what they preached in 1843 and 1844) was about the second coming of Christ.  That’s what people preached when they first got the message.  They included the second coming of Christ along with what the first angel’s message was all about.

Babylon is referring to Babel, and symbolizes confusion.  The phrase “Babylon is fallen is fallen” is understood by Adventists to be a warning of the fall of the church because of their punishment for not accepting the first angel’s message.

1.)  The second angel’s message was given in the summer of 1844.

2.)  The second angel’s message had a more direct application to the Protestant churches in America that had refused the first angel’s message.  {4SP 232.1}

3.)  The SAM was given because people refused the FAM.

4.)  The consequences to the church for not accepting the FAM was:  The Lord rejected them, and a second angel’s message was proclaimed to them.  [Rev. 14:8]

5.)  Fear God, and give Him the glory, and keep His commandments.

7.)  “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!”  It was to give power to the SAM.  {EW 238.2}

8.)  The midnight cry was given near the close of the SAM.  {EW 238.1}

9.)  The purpose of the midnight cry was to give power to the SAM.  Angels were sent to arouse the discouraged saints and prepare them for the great work a head of them.  {EW 238.2}

10.)  We have to have a personal relationship with Christ by spending time in prayer and reading His word.  That itself will prepare us for the heavenly sanctuary.  They were to tell others that the Bridegroom cometh.  Spreading the news to others so that they can have a chance, too, was preparing themselves for the heavenly sanctuary.

11.)  The first call is, “Babylon is fallen,” and it was given in the summer of 1844.  {4SP 232.1}  In Revelation 18, God’s people are called to come out of Babylon.  Many of God’s people must still be in Babylon according to this chapter.  The second call was the loud cry, and was given on October 22, 1844.  (RH Dec. 6, 1892).  {7BC 985.5}  The loud cry is happening now.  We are to proclaim the loud cry to the world.

12.)  Why are there only two distinct calls made to the churches?  God is giving us two chances to make a choice whether to follow Christ or Satan.  The first call was just a warning to prepare us for the final call.  God might have thought that it wouldn’t have made much difference to have more than two calls, because many people would still reject His calling.

It says the angel was flying in the midst of heaven.  This gives evidence of the gospel workers traveling around the world preaching the message so that everyone can hear it.

“Saying with a loud voice.”  This is meaning the gospel being preached throughout the whole world with the power of the Holy Spirit.

“The hour of his judgement is come” is the announcement that is pointing to the close of the work of Christ’s ministration for the salvation of men.

2.)  In Romans 1:21-1:25, Paul talks about exchanging worshiping the Creator to worshiping the creature.  When they (people that don’t worship God) knew God, they didn’t glorify Him, neither were they thankful.  Instead, they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  They thought they had become wise, but they had become fools.  Instead of worshiping the Creator God that they couldn’t see, but could see them, they formed an image that they could see, that couldn’t see them.

3.)  Christ demonstrates the circuit of beneficence by giving life and sending His Son to die for us because of His love for us.  “Through the belolved Son, the Father’s life flows out to all; through the Son it returns, in praise and joyous service, a tide of love, to the great Source of all.”

4.)  Satan wants to put in place the creature instead of God, so that the creature is worshipped instead of God.  This is the broken circuit.  It wouldn’t make sense to go to church and have the preacher talk about us, or man’s own words.  He should, instead, talk about the Word of God.  Satan is only trying to twist God’s words around and make us think differently.

5.)  The advantages that we have over the circuit of beneficence over the broken circuit, is that when we are worshipping and following God, He will be there for us and will answer our prayers, whereas, if we are following the devil, he will not help us.  He will only lead us down the wrong path.

6.)  Satan wants us to think that we can become like the Godhead; knowing good and evil.  He wants us to focus on self-exaltation.  Glorifying ourselves.  God wants us to focus on others and praise Him.  At the investigative judgement, God is going to decide who will be saved and who won’t be.  If we are focusing on self, we won’t be saved.

When the second seal was opened, there appeared a red horse.  This was to symbolize rejection of Christ.

There is a black horse when the third seal was opened, symbolizing the absence of light.  By rejecting the three angels’ messages, Protestantism has rejected Christ, who is the Light.  Christ was the One who gave us the three angels’ messages [Rev. 10:1-3], and without that they cannot be the light for the world.

The fourth seal has a pale horse, which symbolizes death.  “The souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held” referrs to the dead who are righteous.

The fifth seal is talking about the investigative judgement for the dead at the end of times.  The white robes that were given to them is referring to the second hald of the cleansing of the sanctuary.

In Revelation 6:12-13 it mentions that just before Jesus comes there is going to be a great earthquake such as was never before.  The sun will become black, the moon will become as blood, and the stars will fall.  This is what the sixth seal is all about.  The time of the end, just before Jesus comes.

Revelation 8:1 mentions the 7th seal.  It says that when Jesus comes and opens the 7th seal, there will be silence in Heaven about the space of half an hour.  Normally, a half hour biblically means one week.  But in this case, a half hour is 30 minutes.  Therefore, the 7th seal is about the silence in Heaven for about a half an hour.

2.)  We start having a defective character at birth.  We were born with it.  After a person is converted, he is still guilty because of his defective character that causes him to commit sinful acts.  The cause to want to sin will still exist, but it can be overcome during the conversion process.

3.)  When a person is born, they are naturally born with their parents’ character, and throughout their lives, they are guilty of a defective character.  Not until they go through the process of being converted can they overcome their defective character.  During the conversion process, they learn to be unselfish, rather than selfish.  When they overcome their defective character, they gain the victory.

4.)  Building your character can be done through studying your Bible and spending time in prayer.  We need to constantly receive the Holy Spirit through the Word of God.  It is a hearing and doing of the Word.  Hearing what God has for us to do, and doing it.

5.)  The workmen that you use to get the job done are the mental and moral powers:  Mental powers:  Reason, Judgment, Understanding, and Memory–knowledge, wisdom.  Moral powers:  Conscience, Will, Self-control, Faith, Hope, and Love.  It’s our job to put the right thoughts into our minds.  If we have the right thoughts, we’ll have the right feelings.

6.)  We can’t do all this (referring to #5) on our own.  We need God’s help when we’re building our Christ-like character.  Satan tries to discourage us and destract us from building our Christ-like character.

7.)  At the marriage, our character is replaced by Christ’s character.  Christ stands infront of us when God looks at us to “make us look good”.  But during the time of trouble, Christ will step aside and not replace our character with His, and God will be looking directly at us to judge whether or not we will be saved or not.  At the time of trouble, it will be too late to repent.  We need to be doing that right now, before it’s too late.

8.)  We as Adventists believe that our character is not good enough to save us.  We need Christ’s character to replace our character.  People who believe in spiritualistic theories believe that once you’re baptized, you’re saved, and it doesn’t matter what you do wrong, you’re still saved.  We need to understand and realize that we aren’t good enough without Christ living in us.

The corrupt channel started when sin started.  Since sin started, we’ve needed a mediator to speak for us.

Catholics and Protestants differ on whether a person’s good works are perfect and therefore have merit because Catholics think that once you’re baptized, your saved, and it doesn’t matter what you do wrong, because you’re already saved.  Therefore, we don’t need a mediator.  Protestants believe that we’re so sinful that we can’t go directly to the feet of God.  We need a mediator.

Christ’s job as a mediator is to speak to God for us to ask Him for forgiveness.  The Catholic way of thinking is that once you’re baptized, you’re saved, and you don’t need a mediator, because you’re already perfect, and it doesn’t matter what you do because once you’re baptized you’re saved.

We as Adventists believe that you can’t depend on works alone for salvation, but Christ’s righteousness ALONE.  We can’t be saved by our good works.  We do have to practice good works though, in order to be saved by Christ’s righteousness.  Righteousness is right doing.  We have to be building a Christ-like character by doing good works.  We can’t just be saved by Christ’s righteousness.  We have to do our best in works, and once we do our best, Christ does the rest.

Basically, spiritualistic teachings are theories of what the Catholics believe.  They believe that when you’re baptized, you’re saved, and it doesn’t matter if you sin or not, you’re still saved.  They don’t think that they need to go through all the steps of being snactified.  They think that what they’ve done is good enough.  Adventists also believe in spiritualistic teachings.  They believe that once you’re baptized, you just need to practice building a Christ-like character, and that is good enough, because Christ will do the rest.  They don’t think that they need to go through all the steps of being sanctified.
